Qinfolk gathers artists whose practices move through tenderness, memory, and defiance — to ask what joy looks like when even our dreams are surveilled. Through photography, digital collage, textile, and installation, the exhibition explores the radical intimacy of joy and the audacity of imagination. Drawing from the legend of Dream Police under Moi’s regime — where dreaming of the president’s death was forbidden — the show reimagines freedom as an interior rebellion, one that begins in the psyche and radiates outward. The opening event on November 20, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, will feature a panel conversation titled 'Emancipation through visual impressions; Decolonizing minds through heart wired approaches' with panelists Seise Bagbo, Morris Andati, and Aïssatou Ciss. The exhibition itself runs daily from November 20th to December 4th, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM, featuring works by Kreks Carter, Aïssatou Ciss, Tahir Karmali, Kawira Mwirichia, Kabi Kimari, and Namikoye Wanjala. It is curated by Awuor Onyango and presented by African Art agenda x Goethe-Institut.
