Kulture Klub presents Screening 4: Lingui, The Sacred Bonds. This powerful film, directed by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, tells the story of Amina, a single mother in N’Djamena, who discovers her 15-year-old daughter Maria is pregnant and seeking an illegal abortion. The film explores the sacred bonds between women who build resilience and solidarity in the face of adversity. It is presented in French & Chadian Arabic with English subtitles and runs for 87 minutes. The evening's program includes doors opening at 5:30 PM, artist performances and talks from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, the film screening (short + feature) from 7:10 PM to 8:45 PM, a quiz/trivia session from 8:45 PM to 9:00 PM, and post-film discussions with the audience about the film and emerging topics from 9:00 PM to 9:45 PM. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for good seating and to stay for the engaging post-film conversation and activities like trivia, bingo, panel discussions, open mic, and karaoke, with gifts for active participants. Posters and merchandise will also be available, with proceeds supporting future free screenings.
