Cheche Bookshop and CafeShow on maps
Join Cheche Books for a screening of the 1984 film Leila and the Wolves by Lebanese director Heiny Srour. The film frames Lebanon and Palestine through the eyes of the 20th-century women who fought for their homeland. The story becomes a multi-temporal act of resistance that weaves together archival and mythical elements to remake feminist historiography. The event is part of a monthly series of film screenings taking place on the last Wednesday of the month to raise funds for besieged Gaza. There is a suggested minimum donation of 1000ksh that will go entirely to mutual aid in Gaza.
