Join us for a bold new production exploring postcolonial satire through image reproduction, questioning identity and complicity in the global game of power. THIS PLOT IS NOT FOR SALE is set up in an absurd photo studio, where re enactment, poetry, and grotesque humour collide. Three characters Pete (Nairobi), Kathi (Munich) and Stevan (former Yugoslav) negotiate between utopia, guilt, and self-staging, with the central question: How do we see each other – and how does that affect the future we choose to build? The play features languages from each country and invites Kenyan audiences to an unexpected theatrical experience. Given the current global power shifts, the play introduces timely conversations around privilege, race and class relations and challenges long overstayed neo-colonial traditions that remain unquestioned.
