The Festival of Qinfolk 2025 is a Pan-African multidisciplinary festival celebrating queer culture in sub-Saharan Africa. It brings together queer activists, artists, and cultural workers from the region, serving as a platform for artistic expression conceived and controlled by community members. The festival aims to lift the repression faced by the community, operating under the conceptual framework of ‘pleasure politics’ – using fun and pleasure as a form of resistance and self-empowerment. Activities include an art exhibition, workshops, film screening, and a ballroom session.
